Serial sperm donors
In November 2023, the docuseries Père 100 enfants publicly denounced three serial sperm donors, a father and his two sons, who gave their sperm through misleading means in Québec. Their sperm donations have engendered the births of several hundred children.
The plaintiff, M.M., is the mother of four children from the artisanal donations of two of the donors, Philippe Normand and Dominik Seelos. She chose to use their reproductive material for her parental projects after they had both explicitly committed to stop giving sperm after reaching a certain number of children or families. Both of them lied about the number of children born from their donations when she accepted to use their sperm, have greatly exceeded the maximum number they committed to, and hid their father-son relationship. This fertility fraud has caused grave consequences for M.M. and her children.
In November 2024, M.M. turned to the courts with the goal of stopping them from donating their sperm, in her name and in the name of her children. She is represented by Mtre Jessica Lelièvre and Mtre Marie-Laure Dufour of the firm Trudel Johnston & Lespérance.

On March 18, 2026, the Superior Court of Québec granted the application for interlocutory injunction and banned Philippe Normand and Dominik Seelos from donating sperm in Québec in parental projects involving assisted procreation from now until a judgment on the merits.
The Court has also forbidden them from communicating with anyone with the goal of offering sperm donation, notably through online forums or advertisements.
The case is now moving towards a hearing, during which M.M. will seek to obtain a permanent injunction.
