Don’t be surprised if Clara hugs you the first time you meet her. She’s a real team player — and won’t have any trouble convincing you to join the gang with her welcoming smile! She started at the firm in 2010 as a student, and has felt right at home ever since. Called to the bar in 2015, Clara wasted no time launching ground-breaking lawsuits against the government for the solitary confinement of inmates and for failing to regulate illegal Hasidic schools. Especially moved by cases involving discrimination against the most vulnerable, Clara has oriented her practice towards the defense and protection of human rights.
Clara obtained her Master’s degree in Private International Law (L.L.M.) in 2014. Her thesis aimed to demonstrate that Quebec courts have jurisdiction to adjudicate human rights violations committed by Canadian companies abroad. As someone who loves to spend time among students and academics, Clara has been an affiliate researcher of the Université de Montreal’s Class Action Lab since its launch in 2015. She also collaborates with human rights associations on a regular basis to help respond to injustice through meaningful and responsive public litigation. Clara is also our primary suspect when someone leaves food on the kitchen counter… She’ll face your accusation with a smile, then apologize and eat the meal — whether it’s hers or not.
Clara strongly believes that a healthy legal practice requires an openness to other fields, so she has never stopped playing the piano a. She is proud to be President of the board of the production company Ballet-Opera-Pantomime. Always one for an adventure or provocative cultural expedition, Clara has a way of taking us beyond our comfort zones. That’s where we see her true nature: creative, wild, and bright.
She joined as a partner in January 2023.
