Fanny Caire (she/her) completed her Bachelor of Civil Law and Jurisdoctor (BCL/JD) at McGill University in May 2024 and passed her bar exams in October 2024. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Ottawa under the joint supervision of President Marie-Eve Sylvestre and Professor Mariève Lacroix. Her thesis will focus on the use of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms to ensure better protection of the rights of incarcerated individuals. Fanny is passionate about issues of state liability, particularly in prison and policing contexts. She has been working as a law student at TJL since May 2025 and will return for her articling in the fall of 2027.
