On November 18, 2021, Ms. Sophie Moreau filed an individual lawsuit against Gilbert Rozon. She is claiming $250 000 in compensatory damages, as well as $1,000,000 in punitive damages for the sexual assaults and harassment she suffered in 1988 and 1989.
This lawsuit follows Patricia Tulasne’s, Lyne Charlebois’ Danie Frenette’s, Annick Charette’s and Anne-Marie Charrette’s individual lawsuits and comes on the heels of the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision not to hear the Courageuses’ appeal after the Quebec Court of Appeal denied them leave to sue their abuser by way of a class action.
