    Terms of Employment

    • Permanent, full-time position (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday);
    • Hybrid work model: up to 2 days of remote work per week;
    • Start date: As soon as possible;
    • Office located in Old Montreal, next to Place-d’Armes metro station (Palais des congrès).

    Salary and Benefits

    • Salary between $45,000 and $55,000 annually, depending on experience, indexed to the CPI as of January 1st, with the possibility of a performance bonus;
    • Three weeks of paid vacation per year, with additional paid closure during the holiday season;
    • Group insurance plan (life, prescription drugs, dental, health care, telemedicine) partially covered by the employer.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Open and close case files using Juris Evolution software;
    • Migrate or open files in SharePoint;
    • Manage file deadlines and follow-ups, including judgment-related timelines, procedural protocols, and new file tracking;
    • Communicate with class members (e.g., claims administration, witness outreach in certain cases);
    • Format and proofread pleadings, send notifications via email, e-file documents, and format correspondence;
    • Prepare books of authorities and exhibits (including table of contents, highlighting, and PDFs);
    • Update the firm’s website and Class Action Registry (including drafting preliminary content);
    • Manage social media accounts;
    • Print and bind documents;
    • Coordinate with bailiffs and court reporters;
    • Support lawyers in preparing case materials for all stages of litigation, including court preparation;
    • Maintain communication with clients and class members;
    • Prepare or review cost statements;
    • Submit, monitor, and invoice requests to the Class Action Assistance Fund (including timely preparation and follow-up of invoices);
    • Perform data entry tasks;
    • Draft and post notices to class members (including Facebook notices), and monitor/respond to comments;
    • Use DeepL for translation when needed.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Experience as a legal or administrative assistant (experience in a professional setting is an asset);
    • Diploma in office administration or secretarial studies (legal specialization is an asset);
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel;
    • Excellent spoken and written French;
    • Good spoken English;
    • Written English proficiency is an asset.
