The plaintiff, Nelson Carey, has filed an application for authorization to institute a class action against the Government of Quebec concerning the use of strip searches in provincial detention facilities. The class action is being brought on behalf of all persons who have been incarcerated in a Quebec detention facility since June 16, 2022.
