    Ophélie Vincent - articling student

Behind Ophélie’s sparkling eyes and pink headphones lies a formidable jurist, both rigorous and empathetic. Right from the start of her bachelor’s degree in civil law at the Université de Montréal, Ophélie was determined to embark on a legal career guided by a quest for social justice. Strongly committed to human rights, she became involved in housing law, health law and women’s rights. Passionate about creative expression and a proud finalist in the International Grand Final of the P.G.L. dictation, she has contributed as an editor and director for a magazine specializing in access to justice and for the student newspaper Le Pigeon dissident. With a dream of litigating issues of public interest, she also represented the Université de Montréal in the national Laskin Moot Court Competition.

In addition to her brilliant ideas, Ophélie spreads her dynamism and joy of living throughout the firm. Always on the lookout for new discoveries, she marvels at the virtues of nature and savours the pleasure of meals shared with loved ones, the vibrancy of Montreal’s cultural life and the joy of running in Mont-Royal Park. Learning to play thepiano and to sing since childhood has enabled her to develop the precision, creativity, listening skills, sensitivity, and open-mindedness she believes are essential to the practice of law. The music that accompanies her everywhere inspires her to transpose these qualities to each of her mandates.

Ophélie joined the TJL team in September 2022 as a law student and is now pursuing her career as an articling student. She looks forward to continuing to develop her skills at TJL, working on a wide variety of cases that will improve access to justice and enhance the collective well-being.
